World Travel Market (WTM) Africa, in partnership with CBISN, today announced the strategic enhancement of its China Ready® Workshop. The workshop will be rescheduled for April 2026 and transformed into a more accessible Continuing Professional Education (CPE) format.
The decision comes in direct response to industry feedback, with many exhibitors and tourism professionals expressing interest but unable to leave their stands for the full-day workshop originally scheduled for April 2025.
“We’ve listened carefully to our stakeholders and recognised an opportunity to make this valuable training more accessible to everyone in the African tourism sector,” says Reanté Naidoo, Buyer & Digital Director: Travel, Tourism & Creative Industries at RX Africa. “By restructuring to a modular CPE format, we can significantly reduce costs while allowing professionals to earn recognised credentials without extended time away from their stands or businesses.”
The enhanced programme will introduce China Ready® in stages at WTM Africa over the next few years: the essential knowledge module – covering history, culture, and customs – launches in 2026, followed by Marketing to China in 2027, and Business in China in 2028. This phased approach allows professionals to earn CPE credits gradually while attending sessions that fit their schedules.
Enhanced Accessibility Benefits:
Pay as you learn: The China Ready® Programme is now divided across three years, allowing individual module purchases instead of a single upfront payment.
Flexible scheduling: Shorter, focused sessions that work around exhibition commitments.
Professional recognition: Earn formal CPE credits with each module to advance career credentials.
Optimised learning: Focused, digestible modules improve knowledge retention and practical application.
Overview of China Ready® Programme Modules:
1) China Market Overview (ME103)
Essential knowledge covering history, culture and customs that impact business dealings
Pre-requisite module for all further training
Duration: 2 hours 20 minutes
CPE Credits: 6 points
2) Marketing to China (ME104)
Comprehensive coverage of digital marketing and offline activities with live case studies
Pre-requisite: China Market Overview
Duration: 2 hours 20 minutes
CPE Credits: 6 points
3) Business with Chinese (ME105)

“The CPE format represents a significant advancement in how we prepare African tourism stakeholders for the Chinese market,” notes Dr Marcus Lee, CEO of China Travel Online and programme facilitator. “By making this training more accessible, we’re ensuring more businesses can effectively capture their share of China’s projected 200 million outbound travellers by 2028.”
Registration details for the enhanced 2026 programme will be announced in due course, with preferential booking options for current ticket holders.
