Winter: Air France to Serve 167 Destinations From Paris-CDG

After a summer season marked by strong demand, especially for long-haul travel, Air France continues to move forward with the reopening and expansion of its global network.

During the 2023-2024 winter season (November 2023 – March 2024), the airline will fly to 167 destinations, including 84 long-haul and 83 medium-haul.

Long-haul: Raleigh-Durham and Abu Dhabi join network

Winter 2023-2024 will see a 20% increase in capacities to North America compared to 2019. Over that period, Air France will operate up to 212 flights a week to 20 destinations in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Raleigh-Durham (North Carolina) will join the Air France network effective October 30, 2023, with 3 weekly flights on Boeing 787-9.

Raleigh-Durham will become Air France’s 14th US destination this winter. Also, the airline will be extending its Ottawa service to the winter season. The Ottawa route was inaugurated in June and flights are aboard a Boeing 787-9.

Service to Dallas, Vancouver, Boston and Montreal will be bolstered, through more flights or higher-capacity aircraft.

Finally, in a nod to its 90 years, as of October 29, 2023, Air France will renumber its flights between Paris-Charles de Gaulle and New York-JFK. Flights AF015 and AF022 will assume numbers AF001 and AF002, the iconic flight numbers for the Concorde until 2003.

Farther south, Air France will be strengthening its services to Central and South America with the introduction of daily service to San José (Costa Rica) on Airbus A350-900. Services to Bogota (Colombia) will also be operated by Airbus A350-900, increasing capacity on that route.

In the Caribbean, on December 1, 2023, Air France will inaugurate a new route between Pointe-à-Pitre (Guadeloupe) and Saint-Martin – one weekly flight aboard an Airbus A320. This will bring to 7 the number of destinations Air France’s Caribbean regional network serves: Belém (Brazil), Cayenne, Pointe-à-Pitre, Fort-de-France, Saint-Martin, Miami and Montreal.

Air France’s offering from/to Asia is also set to grow. Although still below 2019 levels, capacities there will be up 60% compared to winter 2022-2023, driven by China and Japan.

The airline will maintain daily flights to Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong throughout the winter, and will add a second flight to Tokyo-Haneda. This winter, the airline will fly up to 16 times a week to Tokyo’s two airports.

Finally, daily flights will resume this winter to Bangkok (Thailand), and the destination will enjoy up to 10 flights a week during the peak months of January and February 2024.

Effective October 29, 2023, Air France will begin flying to Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates) as part of a cooperation with Etihad Airways. Flights will depart every day, with an Airbus A350-900. Service to Dubai will be 14 times a week aboard a Boeing 777.

In Africa, Air France now flies daily to Nairobi (Kenya), and travel to Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) inaugurated in June as a continuation of service to Zanzibar (Tanzania), is being extended to the winter season.

NB: Due to safety concerns, flights from/to Niamey (Niger), Bamako (Mali) and Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso) remain suspended until further notice.

Short- and medium-haul: 660+ flights daily, resumption of seasonal routes to Scandinavia

Leading the way for medium-haul travel this winter is the restart of seasonal routes between Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport and Tromsø (Norway, 2 flights a week as of October 28, 2023), Rovaniemi (Finland, 3 flights a week effective December 2, 2023, and up to 7 flights a week during the Christmas holidays), Kittilä (Finland, 1 flight a week starting December 23, 2023) and Innsbruck (Austria, 1 flight a week as of December 23, 2023).

Flights to Krakow (Poland) are being extended to the winter season, three times a week on Embraer 190.

Air France-KLM Group’s low-cost affiliate, Transavia France, will fly to 84 cities in 26 countries this winter. Once again, it will be the top low-cost airline operating out of Paris’ airports.

Thank you for sharing such a detailed review about ethiopian airlines in your post. I am an avid traveller and keep reading flight reviews to assess the options available. Your review particularly drew my attention because you have shared so many pictures to capture every aspect of the flight experience. It is a very nice effort.

I am really tempted to book the next ethiopian airlines ticket and relive your journey. The pictures shared with the post also reflect that you truly enjoyed the travel. Great post! I also like the fact that you have covered nuances about the food and entertainment service through the pictures. It helps people know what to expect on their travel by this airline.
