Adomi Bridge

Akosombo Dam

Constructed between 1961 and 1965, the Akosombo Dam is a hydroelectric dam that generates electricity for Ghana as well as the neighbouring Togo and Benin Republic. An engineering marvel, Akosombo dam is a tourist attraction on its own. Construction of the dam led to the creation of Lake Volta which is the largest man-made lake in the world by surface area.
