Perhaps, the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted your travel plans in the first half of the year. But all time is not lost. Summer is here and winter is coming and so is Christmas and New Year. As countries around the world begin to relax COVID-19 travel restrictions, it's time to revisit your travel plans and set yourself loose once again. If you like it beachy or resorty, there are several African holiday destinations that'll meet your expectations and even exceed them. The Maaha Beach Resort in Ghana is one of such excellent locations for a rewarding staycation this season and beyond. My first time here was in 2019 and I totally loved it.
Located in the Ellembele District in the Western Region of Ghana, Maaha Beach Resort a place where unlimited leisure meets affordable luxury. As you step in, the unmistakable traditional Nzema architecture bears witness to the sophisticated yet simple elegance within. The incredibly beautiful scenery highlighted by the adjacent Atlantic Ocean ushers you into a 'new world'. The first impressions are those of peace, tranquility, luxury, and creativity. Call it love at first sight and you would be right. Whether you want a quick weekend getaway or an extended stay, Maaha Beach Resort will offer you a lap of luxury in more ways than one. Excellent Accommodation For accommodation, Maaha Beach Resort offers three elegant options, all of which feature decors that reflect traditional Ghanaian accents with a modern touch. The Standard room gives you the freedom to roll over in your double or queen size bed while enjoying well-thought-out services.
However, you can step up the game a little by immersing yourself in one of the spacious Deluxe rooms where you can adjust the room temperature and the mood lighting with the touch of a bottom. And if you can, you should pamper yourself in one of the exceptionally spacious Executive rooms designed with love in mind.
The Executive room provides a tranquil and lush space to relax while enjoying scenic views of the adjacent Atlantic Ocean. Whether you go Standard, Deluxe or Executive, a generous open-plan bathroom with separate standing shower and a spacious work area will put you right at home during your stay. You can also be sure to take pleasure in several modern in-room facilities including LCD TV, coffee maker, minibar, safety deposit box, satellite TV, and and complimentary Wi-Fi. Exquisite Gastronomy With respect to gastronomy, Maaha Beach Resort features two restaurants and a bar, all of which will ensure you have an exquisite culinary experience. While the cuisine at Maaha Beach Resort is reflective of a healthy mix of well-curated local and continental dishes, the drinks are exotic and wide-ranging.
At Kundum Restaurant, a richly diverse buffet is served, allowing you to titillate your palate however you want. From the popular local Nzeema Akyeke dish to Indian chicken Tikka all the way to Italian Lasagne, Kundum Restaurant offers dishes that'll enrich your body and nourish your soul. Whether you want a choice of seafood prepared with fresh fish directly from the nearby Atlantic Ocean or a tenderloin steak garnished with a freshly made special sauce, The Waves restaurant is the ideal place for you. You can also choose from a wide variety of other local and international dishes.
If you're ever in the mood to look up and look down while clinching a bottle of something, the Spanish Bar is at your service. Beyond an array of carefully selected wines and champagnes, Spanish Bar offers exotic cocktails that will tease your taste buds and delight your senses. That is, while you enjoy the musical vibes and the scenic views of the Atlantic Ocean. Other Facilities Maaha Beach Resort offers excellent accommodation and exquisite gastronomy, but there's more. The resort has facilities for various sports including lawn tennis, table tennis, swimming, beach soccer, beach volleyball, and water sports. If fitness is your sort of thing, there's a well equipped gym as well as a luxurious Spa that'll give you that therapeutic massage you've been craving for.
If you wish to document your stay, as I suspect you would, Maaha Beach Resort provides an incredibly beautiful backdrop for a memorable photoshoot. Every picture taken at the resort has a story to tell. Local Attractions Maaha Beach Resort provides a lot of fun. But if you're looking to stretch your legs, a visit to the nearby Nzulezo Village will be worthwhile. Nzulezo Village is a small aquatic community built entirely on wooden stilts where people live in perfect harmony with aquatic elements. You'll enjoy the boat ride, experience the thrills, and even learn a few lessons.
You can also visit the Ankasa Conservation Area near the border with Côte d'Ivoire, and witness Ghana’s most biological diversity with over 300 different plant species and 263 species of birds. Or head to the spectacular Bamboo Cathedral and experience nature’s perfect architectural design. And if you’re interested in slave trade, you should visit the Fort Apollonia, a 15-century port at which the colonial masters carried out slave trade.
