Hyde Park Corner is celebrating Moms this Mother’s Day with a wonderfully unique event which will capture the imagination and a priceless memory at the same time!
Made for Mom
It was Apicius, the first Century Roman gourmand, who ostensibly coined the phrase “We eat first with our eyes”. And he wasn’t wrong. Eating is a journey for all the senses and a masterfully plated dish draws us in before we even know what is on the plate.
On Sunday, 8 May Hyde Park Corner has partnered with two of our most-loved restaurants to host plating workshops on Mother’s Day this year.
Olives & Plates and Just Teddy Fine Boulangerie & Pâtisserie are renowned for their immaculate and creative plating; these plating workshops will offer not only an exclusive opportunity to see how they do it; but the perfect Mother’s Day experience too.
The workshops will take place in two workshop timeslots at each restaurant on Sunday, 8 May from 10am to 11am and again from 3pm to 4pm with limited seating capacity at each workshop. Perfect timing for a Mother’s Day activity either after breakfast or lunch at one of the restaurants at Hyde Park Corner!
Participants can look forward to learning getting the lowdown from a professional chef on:
Significance of food plating
Simple guide for home chefs, using easily available ingredients
Do’s & don’ts for food plating
Tools required for plating
Ingredients and flavours to be used during plating
And after the workshop, the champagne will flow while participants indulge in a delectable buffet. What better way to celebrate Mother’s Day than mastering the art of plating?

Wow! Stunning! Hilton seems to be taking Africa by storm. Just a couple of years back, they opened the first ever in Eswatini.
Wonderful event and topics discussed, hopefully we see the manifestations in our African airline businesses in the nearest future. Kudos to you all.
