Inside Embraer Phenom 300, World’s Best-Selling Business Jet

On 24 February, 2021, Embraer announced that its Phenom 300 series has become the world’s best-selling light jet for the 9th consecutive year. That announcement didn't come as a surprise.

The Brazilian aircraft manufacturer delivered 50 Embraer Phenom 300 series light jets in 2020, making it the most delivered light jet of the year. More than 590 copies of the business jet have been delivered since entering the market in December 2009.

In 2020, the Embraer Phenom 300 series was also the most delivered jet model out of all twinjets in the market. We shall be dwelling on the Phenom 300E, an enhanced version announced in January of 2020.

Phenom 300E is a perfect fusion of opulence, pace, and range, offering the ultimate customer experience in business aviation. It represents Embraer’s continuous investment in comfort, technology, performance, and operational efficiency.

Let’s take a look at the Cabin

With its disruptive performance, unparalleled technology, exceptional comfort, and stunning performance, the Phenom 300E sets the highest standard of excellence in the light jet category.

Combining luxury, elegance, and style, the Embraer Phenom 300E offers a spacious cabin with the Embraer DNA Design and its baggage compartment is among the largest in its category. The aircraft also features the largest windows in the class, delivering abundant natural lighting in the cabin as well as in the lavatory.

Passengers flying on Phenom 300E enjoy the comfort of two-tone leather seats, with recline and full movement capability. This comfort is enhanced by the best pressurization among light jets (6,600 ft. maximum cabin altitude). The aircraft's low cabin pressurization characteristic significantly reduces jet lag, leaving customers fresh and ready for business on arrival at their destination.

Innovative, intelligent, and stylish by all standards, the Phenom 300E features distinct temperature zones for pilots and passengers, a wardrobe and refreshment center, voice and data communications options, and an entertainment system.

Designed with comfort in mind, the Oval Lite cabin of the Phenom 300E offers passengers the most head and legroom of any light jet. The air in the Phenom 300E interior is cooled, conditioned, and distributed non-stop throughout the cabin. What else can a passenger ask for?

The Flightdeck

The Embraer Phenom 300E jet features a state-of-the-art and responsive pilot-friendly cockpit which enables single-pilot operation. The business jet offers the advanced Prodigy Touch Flight Deck, based on the acclaimed Garmin 3000 avionics suite. Little wonder pilots love this jet.

The Phenom 300E’s cockpit is equipped with a Prodigy Touch Flight Deck running Garmin 3000 avionics. This digital avionics suite revolutionizes the interface between pilots and electronics, streamlining menu structures, and eliminating visual clutter.

The Garmin 3000 avionics give pilots more focused control by replacing mechanical knobs, buttons and selector switches with a digital interface. For pilots, flying the Phenom 300E is an experience.

Although a light jet by size, the Embraer Phenom 300E boasts of features found on larger aircraft, including single-point refueling, externally serviced lavatory, and an airstair.

Additional technology enhancements include an avionics upgrade, featuring a runway overrun awareness and alerting system (ROAAS) ― the first technology of its kind to be developed and certified in business aviation.

The Embraer Phenom 300E also features a predictive windshear, Emergency Descent Mode, PERF, TOLD, and FAA Datacom, among others. The Phenom 300E also features 4G connectivity via Gogo AVANCE L5.

For extra in-flight comfort, the new, comfort-enhancing features on the Phenom 300E include a quieter cabin, more legroom in the cockpit, and a new premium interior option — the Bossa Nova edition.

The optional Bossa Nova edition encompasses a package of Embraer’s latest interior developments, with features such as carbon fiber accents and Embraer’s exclusive Ipanema sew style. It is also the first of the Phenom 300 series to feature piano black surfaces.

Speed and Power

The Phenom 300E is the fastest and longest-ranged single-pilot jet, with a high-speed cruise of 464 knots and a 5-occupant range of 2,010 nautical miles (3,724 km) with NBAA IFR reserves. With the best climb performance in its class, the Phenom 300E costs less to operate and maintain than its peers.

Powered by two Pratt & Whitney PW535E1 engines with 3,478 pounds of thrust each, the Phenom 300E aircraft is capable of flying at 45,000 feet (13,716 meters).

Originally launched in 2005, the Phenom 300 series is in operation in more than 30 countries and has accumulated more than one million flight hours. The first Phenom 300E was delivered in June of 2020.

Embraer is a global aerospace manufacturing company based in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Its executive jet division offers innovative business jets including Phenom 100EV, Phenom 300E, Praetor 500, and Praetor 600.

So far, over 1,400 Embraer business jets have been delivered to over 800 customers in more than 70 countries across the world. For more information, please visit executive.embraer.com.
