Hot New Poolside Eatery Opens at Clico Boutique Hotel

Clico Boutique Hotel & Restaurant has added an exciting new al fresco dining option in the heart of Rosebank, Johannesburg. This new addition elevates their offering with an entirely new eatery in the terrace area named 400 Degrees at Clico.

Chef Dario De Angeli’s passion and flair for great food are evident in the launch of this new eatery which allows for a casual dining experience.

Beautifully prepared food is not just for nourishment, it brings people together and creates memories which are cherished for years to come. Fortunately, Jozi is a city where even our winters are filled with sunshine, which means we are fortunate enough to dine al fresco soaking up the sunshine for most of the year.

Clico Boutique Hotel takes full advantage of the gorgeous Jozi weather and now serves wood-fired pizza at 400 Degrees at Clico.

You can indulge in authentic Neapolitan-style pizza using Chef Dario De Angeli’s handmade fermented pizza dough… think puffy yet light, crisp crusts, creamy mozzarella and toppings that will make your tastebuds sing.

These are no ordinary pizzas! Stand outs include Porchetta (spicy pork loin and shoulder, chilli honey, fennel and salsa verde) or go to a whole new level with the 400 Degrees signature pizza featuring Parma ham, truffles, burrata, aged parmesan and fresh peppery rocket.

And did we mention the spiedini? Tender, juicy meat skewers cooked in the wood-fired pizza oven served with dips and focaccia breads to soak up all the deliciousness. Each is served in a 1kg portion of Picanha rump, beef fillet, chicken thighs, or linefish – perfect to sharing feast fare!

But it’s not all about pizza and meat here! You can also enjoy a healthy fix at 400 Degrees at Clico. Generous salads made with fresh vegetables are a meal in their own crunchy right, the perfect match for an authentic pasta!

Clico Restaurant menu has also been refreshed

For more intimate meals whether you are merely celebrating life itself or a special occasion, the menu at Clico Restaurant now features delectable array of new dishes.

To start, explore the exotic flavours of Okonomiyaki, delicate Japanese pancakes filled with sweet pork, cabbage, shrimp, scallions, oyster sauce and dashi or bonito custard, sesame, honey glazed pork and Japanese mayo; or chicken chipotle with black rice, grilled corn, lime chipotle butter, radish, avocado and tostada.

Mains include tender honey and ginger pork belly, five spice duck breast, linefish on a bed of pak choi and bonito broth, spicy tandoori chicken or succulent beef fillet. Plant-based options prepared Mongolian BBQ style can also be found on this modern new menu.

There is an alchemy to dessert which ends a meal at Clico Restaurant with a flourish…. coconut panna cotta is complimented by smoked pineapple, crème brûlée comes with a Turkish delight twist or go old school with a ’70s chocolate sponge married with black cherries, hazelnut and orange.

Clico Restaurant’s Tasting Menu will take you on a five-course gastronomic adventure with stops in Vietnam, Japan, India and Italy… perhaps a moment in the culinary clouds too!

Clico truly is an oasis of elegance tucked away in Rosebank where the bubbly flows and food is unpretentiously exquisite! Bring your friends and family to enjoy an Italian food experience that will tantalize your tastebuds – bookings can be made via Dineplan.

Wow! Stunning! Hilton seems to be taking Africa by storm. Just a couple of years back, they opened the first ever in Eswatini.

Thank you for sharing such a detailed review about ethiopian airlines in your post. I am an avid traveller and keep reading flight reviews to assess the options available. Your review particularly drew my attention because you have shared so many pictures to capture every aspect of the flight experience. It is a very nice effort.

I am really tempted to book the next ethiopian airlines ticket and relive your journey. The pictures shared with the post also reflect that you truly enjoyed the travel. Great post! I also like the fact that you have covered nuances about the food and entertainment service through the pictures. It helps people know what to expect on their travel by this airline.
