To prevent the further spread of the coronavirus, Delta is taking steps to help customers and employees practice social distancing on the ground and in the air in keeping with current health-expert recommendations. In the latest move to ensure it’s keeping people safe during the COVID-19 pandemic, Delta is taking steps to help customers and employees practice social distancing on the ground and in the air in keeping with current health-expert recommendations.
Starting from today, April 13 through May 31, Delta will block middle seats in Main Cabin, Delta Comfort+ and Delta Premium Select across all flights. Middle seats will be shown as unavailable when selecting your seat.
Additionally, the airline is reducing the number of customers on each flight. Customers who want to practice social distancing can explore options via the Fly Delta App or at delta.com.
Delta is also pausing automatic, advance Medallion Complimentary Upgrades. These will now be processed at the gate to allow gate agents to determine how to best seat customers while considering social distancing and aircraft weight-and-balance restrictions.
Customers who prefer to be seated directly next to travel companions and family members or needing additional assistance should contact Reservations ahead of travel or talk to a Delta agent upon arriving at the gate.
