Moscow City is taking part in the World Travel Market 2018, the leading global event for the travel industry. On 5 November 2018, Moscow City Tourism Department made a presentation about new opportunities for tourists from the UK.

Over the past few years, the Moscow government has been paying particular attention to the development of tourist infrastructure and the promotion of the Russian capital as a modern and competitive city in both domestic and international travel markets. Over the past few years, Moscow has seen an annual growth of tourists arriving from all over Russia, Europe, the USA and other countries of the world. In 2017, 21.6 million tourists came to Moscow, and by the end of 2018, the tourist flow is expected to increase by at least 10%.

Moscow is also one of the largest cultural centers in the world. Every year over 270 cultural and entertainment events take place in the Russian capital. During the Christmas and New Year holidays, the ‘Journey to Christmas’ festival takes place at different venues of the capital.
