South African Tourism (SAT) will be building on its recently launched campaign, "Discover YOUR South Africa" at this year's WTM London taking place next month in London.
The tourism campaign uses the latest EEG-brain-reading technology to record electrical activity in participants’ brains as they walk through a series of rooms showcasing the destination’s scenery, food & wine, culture, city life and wildlife highlights.
Using the information gathered from these visceral reactions, each user’s unique travelling style and personality profile – such as authentic adventurer, culture junkie or urban nomad – was identified to generate a personalised South Africa itinerary that best matched their results.
SAT will be bringing elements of this immersive experience to the stand at WTM so attendees can find out what would make their ultimate trip to South Africa.
In addition, SAT will broadcast Facebook Live sessions every day, following the recent launch of a new series of 5 Facebook Live videos, which took place each month from June to October.
Each video focused on one region of the country with a special guest offering top tips on the best experiences for holidaymakers and providing travel agents with insider insights on the area.
As a first for South African Tourism, this initiative is planned to continue on-stand at WTM each morning, so travel agents can hear insider tips from stand members and participate in a live Q&A via SAT’s Facebook group.
New flights and increased flight frequencies to South Africa are expected to help boost business and tourism in the region.
