In six months’ time, Kenya will show itself off to the world with an unprecedented week of tourism promotion.
During the first week of October, Kenya will host the Africa Hotel Investment forum (AHIF), which is the highest-profile event of its type in Africa, attracting international investors.
Within the same week, it will stage the Magical Kenya Tourism Expo (MKTE), the largest travel trade show in East Africa and it will announce a package of measures to incentivise investment.
Kenya’s Head of State, Uhuru Kenyatta, will launch both events publicly on the morning of Wednesday October 3rd at a ceremony at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre.
On the Tuesday, there will be inspection visits so travel buyers, investors and journalists can see new attractions, infrastructure development projects and investment opportunities in person.
The week’s formal activities will conclude on the Thursday evening, when outstanding examples of sustainable tourism will be recognised.
Kenya is unveiling a new calendar of events in the tourism sector known as Kenya Tourism Festival (KTF), which will be an annual event that will add value to its tourism experiences.
MKTE 2018 will provide an opportunity to network and explore business opportunities. MKTE is targeting to bring on board 120 exhibitors and 160 hosted buyers.
MKTE is the largest travel expo in East Africa, offering the ideal platform for B2B meetings between African products and global buyers. The 2018 edition will take place from 3-5 October.
The Africa Hotel Investment Forum 2018 will take place in Nairobi on 2-4 October 2018, supported by the Kenyan Ministry of Tourism.

Wow! Stunning! Hilton seems to be taking Africa by storm. Just a couple of years back, they opened the first ever in Eswatini.
Wonderful event and topics discussed, hopefully we see the manifestations in our African airline businesses in the nearest future. Kudos to you all.
