South African Airways (SAA) has announced a number of key appointments to fill the critical skills gap at the airline as it forges ahead with implementing its turnaround plan.
The airline is aggressively implementing its turnaround plan aimed at returning the company to financial sustainability, with leadership driving the implementation of the strategy.
SAA has made a number of key appointments with some of these specialists already on board.
Ms Pumla Luhabe is Chief Commercial Officer since 19 February, joining SAA from her previous position as General Manager: Commercial for Mango since 2008. She has over 20 years’ of senior management experience.
Mr Bob Head is the Interim Chief Financial Officer, effective 11 April 2018. He has extensive management experience in different senior management roles both locally and internationally.
SAA has appointed Mr Hendus Venter as Chief Information Officer (CIO) effective 1 May. He has over 20 years’ senior management experience in banking, insurance and technology.
Ms Mpati Amelia was appointed as Acting Chief Legal Officer effective 3 April. She is an Advocate at the Johannesburg bar and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience.
Mr Kenneth Pillay is the Procurement Specialist, effective 12 April. He will also act as Chief Procurement Officer whilst the recruitment process is being finalized. He has more than 20 years’ experience in integrated supply chain management.
Others include Mr Thabang Motsohi who was appointed as Regulatory Policy Officer and Mr Vuyolwethu (Vuyo) Tuku as Manager in Office of the CEO.

Prices in the Sol Torremolinos Don Pablo are the same than two weeks ago.
Good location astounding but the staffs are rude and they make me wait so long for the service. They charge me more than what is on the website and did not refund me the manager is not helping with the issue
