Africa Travel Week has entered into collaboration with the established and successful Sports & Events Tourism Exchange (SETE), which will see the two parties join forces in Cape Town for WTM Africa 2018.
Taking place at the Cape Town International Conference Centre from 18-20 April 2018, SETE is the only event of its kind in Southern Africa and provides a platform that brings together businesses from the sports, events and tourism industries.
SETE will continue its growth in 2018, hosting its seventh edition and further hosting a number of buyers that have successfully brought events to South Africa.
Sports tourism has been recognized by the UNWTO as the fastest growing tourism sector contributing more than 450 billion euros globally in 2014.
There is a gap in the market to provide local event organizers and sports industry stakeholders with a platform to showcase their services and network amongst their peers.
SETE 2018 aims to educate and create discussions around bidding and hosting major international sports events, promote and grow local sports events, and promote southern Africa as a training destination for international teams during the summer months. The SETE conference will also attract global and local experts in event tourism.
SETE 2018 will host a pavilion on the WTM Africa 2018 floor that will showcase exhibitors in the sports sector. Buyers will have access to these exhibitors through the WTM Africa online diary system, while a dedicated speed networking session will further expand awareness around the potential of sports tourism.
World Travel Market Africa 2018 will take place in Cape Town from 18-20 April 2018. Visit www.wtmafrica.com for more information.

Wonderful event and topics discussed, hopefully we see the manifestations in our African airline businesses in the nearest future. Kudos to you all.
