Kenya Airways on Monday said its flights schedule had normalized following a weekend disruptive flight services due to long delays and a cancellation.
In a statement, the airline denied earlier media reports that more than 24 of its flights were cancelled and others delayed for several hours, saying only one Kenya Airways flight was cancelled on Sunday due to technical issues.
“Kenya Airways wishes to reassure its passengers that the operational challenges experienced over the weekend, that led to inadvertent delays, have been addressed,” the statement read.
“We would like to confirm that only one flight was cancelled yesterday (Sunday). However, we had delays on the Mombasa operations for KQ 608/9 and the afternoon Jambojet flights. Jambojet was experiencing non-availability of two aircraft, which led to significant delays,” said the carrier.
“Our guests on this disrupted flight have or will receive a letter with background information, as well as a reasonable compensation for this disruption,"
"On behalf of the Kenya Airways group, we apologize most sincerely to all our guests whose journeys were disrupted and assure you of our continuing focus on schedule integrity," said the airline.
Thousands of passengers, including former politician Kenneth Matiba and National Assembly majority leader Aden Duale, had been stranded at the JKIA in Nairobi over the weekend.

Good location astounding but the staffs are rude and they make me wait so long for the service. They charge me more than what is on the website and did not refund me the manager is not helping with the issue
